Gaj Mohan Niwas began, as the best homestays do, as a much-loved family home. Over the years its arched verandas, sunlit courtyards and well-worn kitchen gathered stories, festivals and the laughter of generations. Today we open those same doors to travellers seeking something more personal than a hotel — a place to belong, however briefly, in the heart of Jaipur.

The Architecture

Where heritage meets quiet comfort

The haveli wears its Rajasthani heritage gently. Hand-finished walls in soft, sun-warmed tones rise to graceful arches; a sculptural staircase curves through the heart of the house; and decorative niches hold small treasures collected over the years.

Nothing here is loud or showy. The aesthetic is one of intelligent restraint — a balance of the traditional and the contemporary that lets the architecture, the light and the craftsmanship speak for themselves.

With only a handful of rooms, we are able to give every guest our full attention. We remember how you take your tea, point you to the bazaar stalls only locals know, and make sure dinner is ready when you return, tired and happy, from a day of exploring.
